I. Introduction:
The schematic capture PRO-NET demo disks come with the following file
sets:
* PronetDir: The data dictionary of the PRO-NET's databases.
* PronetLib: PRO-NET's databases. This includes all symbol libraries,
device libraries and schematic libraries.
* Demo_File: This is a recorded input used by the AutoDemo program in
Auto_Run mode.
* AutoDemo: Auto_Run program will show you all the key features
of PRO-NET. This program will sequence through three
major steps:
** Basic: AutoDemo will walk through all major features
without taking any actions.
** Intermediate: AutoDemo will show some basic operations
such as device calling(auto number assignment),
dragging, deleting, swapping gate, etc.
** Advance: Finally, AutoDemo will show a full feature
operation with such actions as move, modify,
bus creation, repeat, step and so on.
This is not a simulated demonstration. We
actually recorded all the actions a design
engineer did while she was entering a schematics.
This included mistakes she made and all the
necessary steps she took in order to correct
them.
* Demo: This is a full feature PRO-NET with the following
limitations:
** no defined device save in library, print and plot
operations.
** The maximum number of callable device type is seven.
* PNDIR: The data dictionary of the PRO-NET's databases.
* PNLIB: PRO-NET's databases. This includes all symbol libraries,
device libraries and schematic libraries.
* PNPOST: Post processing files such as BOM, NET-LIST and so on.
* Pronet.feature: Description of PRO-NET commands and features.
To ensure the operation of these demo programs, you should not directly
modify and/or rearrange any of these file sets.
II. Running the demo programs:
** Note: The AutoDemo has to be in drive DF0: in order to run properly.
This restriction, of course, does not apply to the real
PRO-NET or the Demo.
A. AutoDemo:
* In Workbench environment:
. Boot up with the Workbench disk.
. Insert Pronet.Demo disk into drive DF0:
. Double click on the disk icon.
. Double click on the AutoDemo icon.
While Autodemo is running, you can:
. Hit space bar to freeze the demo program. Hit space bar again
to continue.
. Hit ^C key to exit AutoDemo. This will bring you back to the
Workbench screen.
* In CLI environment:
. Open the CLI window.
. With the Pronet.Demo disk in drive DF0:, type df0:AutoDemo.
The space bar and the ^C keys also work in this mode.
B. Demo:
The Demo gives you full control of all the operations including
save and post-processing with some limitations mentioned above. The
Demo program can be started the same ways as described above.
WARNING:
This program should be run on a copy, not the original disk. Also
do not modify any file on the AutoDemo disk since it may
interfere with the AutoDemo program; which runs on a prerecorded
sequence and, therefore, expects data in a certain ways.
